Jelly mold, repoussé copper sheet in the form of a lying lion; raised head allows contents to be removed intact. Possibly 18th–19th century, Germany, vessel; height 5.4 cm, width 15.5 cm, depth 9.8 cm., A small sculpted object showing a reclining lion with a flowing mane positioned on a shallow circular base, rendered in metallic tones of brown, dark bronze, and subtle greenish patina, sitting on a smooth pale gray surface; the lion's form shows rounded limbs, textured mane ridges, and a slightly raised head with closed features, and the base has irregular discoloration and reflective highlights.
