Jelly mold, repoussé copper sheet in the form of a lying lion; raised head allows contents to be removed intact., described variously as a button or jelly mold. 18th–19th century, possibly Germany. Vessel; height 5.4 cm, width 15.5 cm, depth 9.8 cm., A small sculpted lion figure resting on an oval base, showing a reclining pose with its head raised and mane flowing down its neck and chest; the surface of the sculpture appears metallic with a mix of greenish patina and brownish-bronze highlights, and the base shares the same coloration; the background is a smooth, light grayish-lavender surface that reflects the sculpture faintly.
