Jug. On a circular, stepped base, the body bulges in the lower part, decorated with a repoussé leafy twig and, at the rim, an eagle with spread wings. Above the two stepped areas is a neck with a spout. Repoussé leaves under the rim and along the rim. The hemispherical handle, fastened with rivets; the lid is hinged with a finger grip, arched, decorated with a leafy rosette and topped with a ball. Maker: Szewczykowski, Roman 1849–1901 creator attribution. 1st half of the 18th century, Poland. Vessel; height 39.5 cm, width 23.9 cm, depth 28.4 cm., A single metal pitcher with a hinged domed lid and a curved handle sits against a plain gray background; the pitcher is a warm brownish-bronze color with darker engraved decorative patterns around its bulbous lower body and a band of embossed motifs near the top, and the lid and spout area show similar engraved detailing; the handle has a small curled metal hook at its upper attachment and the base is stepped and slightly flared, all surfaces reflecting subtle highlights and shadow.
