Jug. On a circular, stepped base, the body bulges in the lower part, decorated with a repoussé leafy twig and, at the rim, an eagle with spread wings. Above the two stepped areas is a neck with a spout. Repoussé leaves under the rim and along the rim. The hemispherical handle, fastened with rivets; the lid is hinged with a finger grip, arched, decorated with a leafy rosette and topped with a ball. Maker: Szewczykowski, Roman 1849–1901 attributed/role unknown. 1st half of the 18th century. Poland. Vessel. Height 39.5 cm; width 23.9 cm; depth 28.4 cm., A metal pitcher with a hinged domed lid and a curved handle sits against a plain pale gray background; the pitcher has a bulbous lower body, a tapered neck, a short spout, and a flared circular base, with decorative embossed floral and foliate patterns around the lower body and a band of ornamental motifs near the neck; the handle is attached with a small metal hinge and features a curled metal detail at the lid attachment; visible colors include warm brown, darker brown patina, and subtle greenish tarnish.
