Spirit lamp, In the form of a two-winged dragon on a four-leaf oval base. Between the wings is a container; in the mouth is a hole for the wick, and on the side is a hole for pouring spirit. According to information in Szewczykowski’s catalogue, this is an oil lamp and a very old one. Due to the relatively large distance from the bottom of the container to the mouth, the lamp-burner cannot be fired with oil, which has poor capillarity. Most likely the lamp was fired with spirit, and the container between the wings was used to hold cigarettes. 2nd half of the 19th century, Polesie. Lamp; height 15.4 cm, width 20.8 cm, depth 10.5 cm., A small sculptural object depicting a mythical creature with a long serpentine body, outstretched wings with ribbed membranes, a raised neck and open mouth, and clawed forelimbs, all rendered in a metallic material with aged golden and bronze tones; the creature reclines on a textured rounded base that has a layered rim, and a basketlike cup with a ruffled edge emerges from its back, showing detailed woven patterns and a slightly brighter golden interior; the overall colors visible include gold, bronze, brown, and hints of darker patina against a pale gray background.
