Souvenir spoon by Fenton, James Birmingham; goldsmith's firm; fl. 1852–1954. Spoon with an ovoid scoop gilded inside, angular handle ending with an openwork sword hilt set with an agate. Late 19th century, Birmingham, England. Cutlery; height 10.5 cm, width 2.8 cm, weight 10 g. Paderewski, Ignacy Jan 1860–1941 mentioned in association; decorative stones, swords., A row of several decorative spoons is arranged horizontally on a gray background; the spoons show a variety of shapes and embellished handles. Visible colors include silver, gold, purple, red, blue, green, and brown. Some spoons have plain oval bowls with a gold-toned interior, one spoon has a scallop-shaped bowl with purple and pink tones, and another has a deep reflective silver bowl. The handles vary: a few are twisted silver, one has colorful enamel segments in blue and green with gold accents, one handle ends in a flat decorative plate with cut-out shapes, and another features a rounded decorative finial with red enamel. The metal surfaces display reflections and polished highlights, and a few areas show slightly darker patina or tarnish.
