Egg spoon, Tiffany & Co. New York; goldsmith and dealer; founded 1853. Maker/designer: Charles Grosjean 1841–1888. Chrysanthemum pattern, introduced by the company in 1880. Late 19th century. Egg spoon with an ovoid scoop, gilded inside, with a profiled, widening handle topped with a chrysanthemum flower; both sides of the handle bear a relief decoration of chrysanthemum leaves and flowers, overlapping the scoop on the back. Materials: cutlery. Dimensions: length 11.5 cm; width 2.5 cm; weight 30 g., A single ornate spoon lies horizontally against a smooth gray background, showing a metallic surface with a warm golden tone on the bowl and a cooler silver tone along the handle; the spoon features intricate raised floral and leafy relief work extending from the bowl onto the handle, with flowing curved lines and petal-like shapes, and a slightly darker patina in recessed areas that accentuates the decorative details.
