Egg spoon, Tiffany & Co. New York; goldsmith and dealer; active from 1853, designed by Charles Grosjean 1841–1888. Egg spoon with an ovoid scoop, gilded inside, with a profiled, widening handle topped with a chrysanthemum flower; both sides of the handle bear a relief decoration of chrysanthemum leaves and flowers that overlap the scoop on the back. Chrysanthemum pattern introduced by the company in 1880; late 19th century; New York, United States. Cutlery; length 11.5 cm, width 2.5 cm, weight 30 g., A single ornate spoon lies flat against a smooth gray background, showing a golden-toned bowl with a slightly worn surface and a silver-toned handle decorated with detailed floral and leaf motifs that continue along the length of the handle to an embellished rounded end; visible colors include gray, gold, and silver.
