Toilet box by Thomas I Pitts fl. 1755–c.1793, goldsmith; Classicism style; 1780/1781, London, England. Classicist round toilet box with lid, silver, decorated with laurel festoons suspended from rosette medallions. Lower edge has a knurled belt of stylized cymatium; slightly arched cover edged with a knurled wavy running dog ornament. Central circular medallion with a relief of Athena wearing a helmet and holding a spear in her left hand; an olive branch and a circular reserve on the right side. Ornaments include bay leaves and festoons. Toilet accessory; height 5.2 cm, diameter 7.9 cm, weight 206 g., The image shows a round decorative metal box with a lid, primarily in a gold color with subtle variations of pale yellow and light beige; the box has ornate raised garland and floral motifs around its sides and a patterned border near the base and rim.
