Bread basket by Mau, Hainrich fl. early 20th century and Hutton & Sons Ltd goldsmith and silversmith firm; fl. 1800–1930. Geometric and floral ornament; openwork; godron ornaments. Oval, boat-shaped basket on four curved legs, sides decorated with openwork plant and floral twig motifs inscribed in an arched ogee back, ribbon reserves, ribbon upper edge, enclosed at the bottom by a godron half-cylinder. Handle in the form of a movable bow, openwork, decorated with plant tendrils. Dated 1901/1902, London, England. Vessel; height 18 cm, width 22.7 cm, depth 3.7 cm, weight 388 g., An oval decorative metal dish with a raised ornate rim and pierced pattern around its edge, showing a smooth central basin with some surface scratches and small dark spots; the rim has a twisted rope-like border and floral or scroll cutout motifs, and there are a few small protruding tabs and a hinged handle attached at one side; visible colors include silver tones, pale gray, and subtle darker gray accents.
