Porridge bowl porringer, by Mappin & Webb Ltd goldsmith/silversmith, fl. 1859–. Cylindrical bowl with flat bottom, slightly widening toward the top with a turned-up edge edged by a smooth half-cylinder. Two side handles modeled as figurines of boys dressed in jockey outfits, riding toy horses on sticks. Associated with porridge/porringer, children's games. Dated 1935–1936. England Sheffield. Vessel; height 5.6 cm, width 16.3 cm, depth 10.5 cm, weight 125 g., A polished metal bowl with a rounded body and flared rim sits against a pale background, showing reflective surfaces and highlights. Attached at opposite sides of the rim are sculpted metal handles in the form of riders on stylized horses, each figure extending outward from the bowl. The bowl and handles display metallic silver tones with areas of darker reflection and subtle shadowing, and the background is a gradient of light gray to off-white.
