Pear-shaped milk jug supported on four volute legs, decorated with an acanthus leaf at the base; belly decorated with rococo motifs in the form of channel-shaped jars, rocailles, flowers and acanthus leaves; volute handle with acanthus projections and a wide raised spout with a serrated edge. Materials/technique: metal silver; function: vessel. Dimensions: height 14.4 cm, width 9.5 cm, depth 8.5 cm; weight 266 g. Made in Sheffield, England., A silver pitcher with an ornate curved handle and a scalloped, flared rim sits on a plain light background; the pitcher has an embossed floral and scrollwork design covering its bulbous body, rests on three decorative feet, and shows a few reflective highlights and subtle shadows in tones of silver and gray.
