Prize cup, goldsmith/silversmith/corporate maker fl. 1859-. Scrap - purchase, occasional inscriptions; sports award, horse racing cross-country steeplechase. Cup on a circular, arched, profiled base and a short shaft; semi-ovoid body, flattened at the bottom; slightly flared upper edge bordered with a half-cylinder, two volute handles on the sides. Engraved inscription on the belly: BURSTON POINT TO POINT MEETING / 22nd APRIL 1911 / OPEN STEEP LECHASE / WON BY / MR H.DETERDING'S / \NIGGER\, 1910/1911. England, London, Great Britain. Vessel; height 16.5 cm, width 23.5 cm, depth 14.5 cm, weight 500 g., A shiny metallic cup with a rounded base and a flared rim sits on a reflective surface, showing smooth curved sides and a single handle that attaches near the rim and extends down the body; the cup and its base exhibit a few surface scratches and subtle reflections, and the visible colors are shades of silver, gray, and white.
