Teapot. Maker: George McHattie fl. 1799–ca. 1825, goldsmith. English Regency style, 1819–1820, Edinburgh, Scotland, Great Britain. Rectangular teapot with rounded edges, supported by four ball feet; decorated with hoardings ornament at the bottom and two smooth half-cylinders above; narrowing with an engraved band of braid; upper edge with a collar decorated with hoardings and flowers. Hinged rectangular profiled lid edged with tendril; spout-shaped spout set high on the axis; broken ear with bone insulators. Material: metal teapot/vessel. Dimensions: height 16 cm, width 28.5 cm, depth 13.5 cm; weight 735 g., A silver teapot with an open hinged lid sits against a light gray background; the teapot has a curved spout with a decorative tip, an ornate handle with small gold-colored accents, and a rounded body resting on small spherical feet; the surface shows intricate embossed and engraved patterns, scalloped and rope-like details, and a dark interior visible through the open top; visible colors include silver, gray, dark gray, light gray, and touches of gold.
