Punch vase by Paul Storr 1771–1844 and Storr & Mortimer London; goldsmiths; fl. 1822–1838. Spherical, flattened, eight-part burled and ribbed punch vase, burling and ribbed surface, supported on four volute leafy feet. Two handles decorated with acanthus leaves and stylized shells. Upper edge turned up and decorated with a relief ornament of leaves and shells. Belly engraved with a coat of arms in a decorative cartouche. Materials/technique: silver goldsmithing. Motifs: acanthus, shells, volutes. Date: 1831/1832. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Function: punch vessel. Dimensions: height 15.5 cm; width 36.2 cm; depth 27.8 cm; weight 2490 g., A polished silver bowl with an open top rests on ornate feet and has decorative handles on opposite sides; the bowl's rim and body feature embossed, curving floral and leaf motifs, and the interior shows reflective silver surfaces with soft highlights and shadows. The visible colors are silver and shades of gray against a light gray to white background.
