Punch vase, made by Paul Storr 1771–1844 and Storr & Mortimer London; goldsmith's firm, fl. 1822–1838. Spherical, flattened, eight-part burled and ribbed punch vase, supported on four volute leafy feet. Two handles decorated with acanthus leaves and stylized shells. Upper edge turned up and decorated with relief ornament of leaves and shells. Belly engraved with a coat of arms in a decorative cartouche. Materials/technique: burling; silver implied by goldsmith. Date: 1831/1832. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Dimensions: height 15.5 cm; width 36.2 cm; depth 27.8 cm; weight 2490 g., A round metal tray with an ornate scalloped rim and two decorative handles is shown flat against a light background; the tray and handles are metallic silver with areas of subtle darker gray patina, the rim features carved leaflike embellishments and the interior has a softly brushed, slightly mottled silver surface with gentle radial indentations, while the handles have ribbed and textured detailing.
