Materials/ornament: acanthus, shells, volutes; burling; burled and ribbed spherical, flattened eight-part form; supported on four volute leafy feet; two handles decorated with acanthus leaves and stylized shells. Upper edge turned up and decorated with relief ornament of leaves and shells. Function: punch vessel. Date: 1831/1832. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Vessel. Height 15.5 cm; width 36.2 cm; depth 27.8 cm; weight 2490 g., A polished metal bowl with ornate scrolling handles and feet sits against a neutral background, showing a reflective surface in shades of silver and gray with darker reflections; the bowl has a scalloped rim and a smooth rounded body with decorative engraved flourishes and a central embellished cartouche, and a few intricate leaf and scroll motifs appear on the handles and feet.
