Two-candle candelabrum by Charles Hougham fl. 1769–1793, goldsmith. Classicism/Georgian, George III style. Two-armed candelabrum on an oval foot bordered with pearling and decorated with a knobbed rosette. Conical, fluted stem topped with a vase-shaped socket containing a setting with two S-shaped arms terminating in saucers and vase-shaped sockets; central vase topped with a ball. Sleeves decorated halfway with vertical flutes, smooth above. Dated 1787/1788. England, London. Lighting. Height 38 cm, width 39 cm, depth 12 cm, weight 1060 g., A tall metallic candlestick with a polished silver surface, featuring a rounded cup at the top with vertical fluted detailing below it, a narrow stem with ornamental rings and a decorative collar with scalloped motifs, a long tapered fluted column leading to a rounded joint, and a broad flared base with radiating flutes and a beaded rim; visible colors include silver and shades of gray against a light gray background.
