Two-candle candelabrum by Charles Hougham fl. 1769–1793. Two-armed candelabrum on an oval foot, bordered with pearling and decorated with a knobbed rosette. Conical, fluted stem topped with a vase-shaped socket, with a setting of two S-shaped arms terminating in saucers and vase-shaped sockets; in the centre between the arms is a vase topped with a ball. Sleeves decorated halfway with vertical flutes, smooth above. Classicism/George III/Georgian style; fluted, pearling, rosette ornament. Dated 1787/1788. England, London. Lighting. Height 38 cm; width 39 cm; depth 12 cm; weight 1060 g., A silver-colored three-armed candelabrum with a fluted round base and a tall, tapered fluted stem leading to a central urn-shaped holder topped by a removable lid, the central platform connecting to two curved, symmetrical arms that extend outward to hold a group of three cup-shaped candle sockets each set above a round drip plate; the metal surface is smooth and reflective with decorative fluting and beaded edging, set against a neutral gray background that shifts from darker at the top to lighter toward the bottom.
