Buliera kettle for boiling water by Benjamin Gignac fl. 1745–1774, goldsmith. Rococo/rocaille style with Georgian/George II influences. Spherical buliera with a flat bow mounted on volutes; spout-shaped side spout; centrally arched cover topped with a pine cone. Decorated with repoussé rococo ornament and floral/plant motifs. Two engraved coats of arms among the decoration — a four-field one in an oval beneath a baronial crown and a second illegible shield. Missing base with a heater. Dated 1753/1754, London, England, Great Britain. Vessel; height 22 cm, width 24 cm, depth 19 cm; weight 848 g., A rounded metal vessel with a hinged domed lid and a curved handle extending from the top is shown against a plain light background. The vessel has ornate raised decorative motifs around the upper portion, including flowing leaf and scroll shapes with textured detailing. The lower surface of the vessel is smooth and reflective with subtle variations in sheen. The handle and lid have matching decorative details and a small finial where they connect. The visible colors are silver tones, white highlights, and soft gray shadows.
