Teapot by John Emes fl. 1796–1808, silver, 1806–1807, London, England. Georgian/George III/Empire style. Ovoid teapot on a circular base with lid; upper belly decorated with a wide band of meander ornament and braid. Ribbon-shaped broken handle decorated with braid; high-set spout decorated at the base with a stylized palmette; lid finished with a knob-shaped finial. Belly engraved with a coat of arms on one side and a cross on the other. Tea vessel. Height 17.9 cm; width 23.7 cm; weight 815 g., A shiny metal vessel with a rounded body and narrow base sits against a plain light gray background, its hinged lid open to reveal a dark interior; the vessel is mostly silver in color with a decorative band near the top featuring a repeating angular pattern in darker silver, and a small protruding spout area with a scalloped detail beneath it, while the lid interior shows curved reflective surfaces and a central fastening element.
