Teapot by John Emes fl. 1796–1808, goldsmith. Ovoid teapot on a circular base with lid; upper part of the belly decorated with a wide band of meander ornament and braid. Side features a ribbon-shaped, broken handle decorated with braid. High-set spout with base ornamented by a stylised palmette. Lid finished with a knob-shaped handle. Belly engraved with a coat of arms on one side and a cross on the other. Styles: Empire, George III/Georgian. Inscription/marks: 1806/1807, London, England. Material: assumed metal vessel; height 17.9 cm, width 23.7 cm, weight 815 g., A silver metal pitcher with a hinged lid shown open, featuring a curved spout and a tall angular handle; the body is rounded with a short circular foot and decorative engraved bands around the upper portion and handle, and an engraved emblem on the front. Colors visible include silver and subtle darker gray tones from shadows and engraved details, against a light gray to white background.
