Cup and saucer. Maker: Dixon, James & Sons Sheffield; goldsmiths; fl. 1806– . Hemispherical cup decorated with radiating curls to half its height, with a C-shaped side handle. Round saucer with a smooth rim and a mirror decorated with radiating curls. Date: 1891/1892. Place: Sheffield, England, Great Britain. Vessel. Cup: height 6 cm, width 11 cm, depth 8.5 cm. Saucer: height 1.7 cm, diameter 14.2 cm. Cup and saucer weight approx. 420 g., A round metallic object viewed from above with a central circular disk surrounded by a fluted ring and a wide outer rim, all in shades of silver and gray with areas of darker gray patina and small spots of discoloration; the fluted ring shows alternating highlights and shadows creating a ribbed texture, and the outer rim has scuffs and faint smudges in darker gray against the lighter silver surface.
