Hemispherical cup and saucer by Dixon, James & Sons Sheffield; goldsmiths; fl. 1806–, maker's mark present. Cup decorated with radiating curls to half its height, with a C-shaped side handle. Round saucer with a smooth rim and a mirror decorated with radiating curls. Dated 1891/1892, Sheffield, England. Vessel. Cup: height 6 cm, width 11 cm, depth 8.5 cm. Saucer: height 1.7 cm, diameter 14.2 cm. Cup and saucer weight approx. 420 g., A round metallic plate with a raised rim and a fluted inner section, showing a weathered, slightly scratched silver surface with areas of darker tarnish; the plate has a central flat disc surrounded by evenly spaced vertical ridges and sits against a pale grey background, with visible subtle variations of silver and grey tones.
