Two-candle candlestick. Maker: William Leuchars fl. 1876–1888, Leuchars & Son London; goldsmith's firm, fl. ca. 1845–1902. Materials/technique: silver implied, lighting object. Description: two-branched candlestick on a circular domed foot; shaft rests on a ball no finial, enclosed at three-quarters of its height in a plate-like ring from which extend movable arms made of S-shaped twisted wires, split at the ends, terminating in cylindrical sockets for candles. Foot engraved with the Pilawa coat of arms with motto beneath a nine-baton count's crown. Date: 1881–1882. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Dimensions: height 27 cm; width 32 cm; depth 11.5 cm; weight 1082 g., A polished metal two-armed candelabrum with a rounded base and a central stem supporting two swirling curved arms ending in cylindrical candle holders; the metal appears silver with reflective highlights and darker interior surfaces in the holders, and the background is a pale light gray.
