Two-candle candlestick, maker: William Leuchars fl. 1876–1888; firm: Leuchars & Son London; goldsmith's firm; fl. ca. 1845–1902. Silver candlestick with two movable arms made of S-shaped twisted wires, split at the ends, terminating in cylindrical candle sockets. Two-branched candlestick on a circular domed foot; shaft rests on a ball no finial and is enclosed at three-quarters of its height in a plate-like ring from which the arms extend. Foot engraved with the Pilawa coat of arms beneath a nine-baton count's crown and motto. Date: 1881–1882. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Function: lighting. Materials/technique: goldsmithing/silver. Dimensions: height 27 cm; width 32 cm; depth 11.5 cm; weight 1082 g., A metallic wall-mounted fixture with an oval backplate and two curved arms extending outward, each arm ending in a shallow cup; the object is shiny silver with some darker interior areas in the cups and slight surface blemishes, set against a pale gray background.
