Two-candle candlestick by William Leuchars fl. 1876–1888 and Leuchars & Son goldsmiths, fl. c.1845–1902. Two-branched candlestick on a circular, domed foot; the shaft rests on a ball no finial, enclosed at three-quarters of its height in a plate-like ring, from which extend movable arms made of S-shaped twisted wires, split at the ends, terminating in cylindrical candle sockets. The foot is engraved with the Pilawa coat of arms with the motto beneath a nine-baton count's crown. Inscription/provenance notes: Pilawa coat of arms, Potocki coat of arms, rank crowns, mottos; scrap – purchase, purchase. Date: 1881/1882. Place of origin: London, England, Great Britain. Materials/function: lighting. Dimensions: height 27 cm, width 32 cm, depth 11.5 cm; weight 1082 g., A polished metallic object with a rounded base and two curved arms extending outward to hold a pair of cup-shaped ends; the metal is primarily silver with darker inner surfaces visible inside the cup-like ends, and the background is a light gray.
