Teapot by Henry Moreton fl. 1899–1930s, factory owner and goldsmith; neo-Rococo style; silver; 1909/1910, Chester, England. Egg-shaped teapot on an oval plinth with a side spout, sleeves on the axis for a wooden handle added contemporarily, hinged centrally arched lid topped with a handle. Upper edge bordered with a band of godrons and a wide collar. Entire surface decorated in neo-Rococo relief motifs and acanthus leaves, with an oval blind reserve on the belly framed by an acanthus rim. Function: tea vessel. Height 13.5 cm; width 26 cm; depth 12 cm; weight 555 g., A silver teapot with ornate embossed floral and scrollwork decoration sits against a gray to white gradient background; the body is rounded with raised decorative panels and a sculpted vertical ridge at the front that integrates into the short spout, the hinged lid has a domed finial and a scalloped edge, and a black handle with a gray top extends upward from the back; visible colors include silver, black, gray, and white.
