Single-candle candlestick by William Cafe fl. 1757–ca. 1802, silver, 1763/1764. Rococo George II style: rocaille ornament, plant tendrils, flowers, shells, cartouches, acanthus leaves; relief decoration slightly spirally twisted. Rococo candlestick on a raised domed foot with hexagonal rim decorated with flower heads at the corners, passing into a baluster shaft and terminating in a vase-shaped socket with a disc-shaped drip pan. Single-candle lighting object. London, England. Height 29 cm; diameter 16.9 cm; weight 695 g., A decorative metallic object with an ornate floral relief, shown from above; the piece is primarily silver with a darker brownish interior visible at its center, and it features a scalloped hexagonal shape, raised flowers and leaves, curved lines and ribbed borders, all rendered in silver tones against a light gray background.
