Mantle engraved with monogram tied HH under a ducal mitre and dated 1890/1891. Maker: Barnard, Edward & Sons Ltd London; goldsmiths, fl. ca. 1680– ; later associated with Clark, Alfred Ltd London; goldsmiths and sellers, fl. 1898–1934. Materials: silver and wood. Dimensions: height 17.3 cm, width 11 cm, depth 8.4 cm; weight 627 g., A tall metal pitcher with a conical body and polished silver surface stands against a neutral light gray background, featuring a curved wooden handle in dark brown with visible grain attached to one side and a short metal spout on the opposite side, a hinged lid topped with a small dark brown finial, a faint decorative emblem engraved on the front of the body, subtle concentric ridges near the base and around the lid, and reflections of the object visible on the glossy surface beneath it; the predominant colors are silver, dark brown, and various shades of gray.
