Platter lampshade, Scott, Digby & Smith, Benjamin fl. 1802–1807 goldsmith; coats of arms, Pogon Ruska coat of arms; relief decoration. Silver hemispherical lampshade with a non-original handle, smooth, with a ribbon edge, profiled. On the side, a relief plaque with the Czartoryski coat of arms on a paludament, under a princely mitre, with labres and the motto Be that as it may. The handle is contemporary. 1803/1804, London, England. Vessel; height 8.5 cm, diameter 15.2 cm, weight approx. 230 g., A curved metallic dome with a muted silvery-gray surface and a round finial on top, the finial showing a slightly darker gray and a textured, ridged design; the dome has a polished yet worn appearance with faint scratches and scuffs, a thin rim along the bottom edge, and a decorative applied element on one side that appears slightly darker silver; the background is a smooth, light gray to off-white gradient.
