Coffee pot by Harris, CS & Sons London; goldsmiths' firm; fl. 1817–1933 and Charles Stuart Harris fl. 1852–1897. Purchased; scrap — purchased. Pear-shaped, ribbed coffee vessel with godron ornaments; supported on four profiled, ball-shaped legs. Belly decorated with a band of narrow half-cylinders and grooves. High spout on the side; wooden handle contemporary addition set on the axis in silver sockets. Upper edge edged with a godron band. Hinged lid, domed in the center, topped with a bowling-pin finial. Dated 1895/1896. Great Britain, London, England. Height 21.2 cm; width 18.5 cm; depth 10 cm; weight 640 g., A clear glass pitcher with a narrow neck flaring to a scalloped rim and a rounded body sits upright on a reflective surface, supported by a few small spherical feet; a dark vertical handle runs from the rim down the front, attached near the top by a circular fitting and extending past the midsection, and a rounded stopper rests at the top; the glass shows a few surface marks and subtle ornamental horizontal grooves around the upper body; the visible colors are clear glass tones with highlights of white and gray and a prominent black handle against a soft gradient gray background.
