Oval openwork fruit basket supported on four palmette legs with lower edge decorated with U-sections; openwork sides composed of circle and trellis motifs with applied laurel garlands, medallions and rosettes; wavy-cut upper edge decorated with a godron ribbon; raised on the longer axis and decorated with acanthus volutes, on the shorter axis with acanthus leaves. Materials/technique: openwork metal goldsmithing. Date: 1896–1897. Place: London, England, Great Britain. Classification: vessel. Dimensions: height 15 cm; width 29.2 cm; depth 23.3 cm; weight 1075 g., An overhead view of an ornate shallow bowl with a circular central field surrounded by a pierced decorative border; the bowl appears metallic with a silvery sheen and shows a small dark bluish-gray irregular reflection near the center; the border features a repeating quatrefoil-like pierced pattern and sinuous raised ribbon motifs with round rosette elements at intervals, all rendered in silver tones against a pale light-gray background.
