Openwork fruit basket, Harris, CS & Sons London; goldsmith's firm; fl. 1817–1933 and Charles Stuart Harris goldsmith; fl. 1852–1897. Oval openwork fruit basket supported on four palmette legs with a lower edge decorated with C-sections. Sides feature openwork circle-and-grid motifs with applied laurel garlands, medallions, and rosettes. Upper edge is cut in a wavy pattern and decorated with a godron ribbon; raised on the longer axis and decorated with acanthus leaves, and on the shorter axis with palmettes. Includes palmettes, medallion, bay leaves, garlands, and godron ornament., A round, shallow metal tray with a wide decorative rim sits against a pale background; the tray is predominantly silver in color with areas of slightly darker patina and faint discoloration, and the rim features an openwork pattern with a repeating quatrefoil-like motif and a few garland-like swags connecting oval cartouche shapes, along with raised scalloped edging and several round floral rosettes.
