Oval openwork fruit basket supported on four palmette legs with the lower edge decorated with U-sections; sides feature openwork circle and trellis motifs with applied laurel garlands, medallions and rosettes; wavy-cut upper edge decorated with a godron ribbon, raised on the longer axis and decorated with acanthus leaves, on the shorter axis with palmettes. Materials: presumably silver; decorative elements include palmettes, bay leaves, garlands, godron ornaments, medallions, rosettes. Date: 1896/1897. Place: London, England, Great Britain. Function: vessel fruit basket. Dimensions: height 11.2 cm; width 23 cm; depth 18.5 cm; weight 645 g., A round metallic dish photographed from above with a central smooth shallow basin surrounded by an openwork rim featuring repeating cutout shapes and scalloped edging; the rim includes curved, ribbon-like raised decorations and floral rosette accents at opposite sides, and small beaded detailing along the outer edge. The visible colors are silver, gray, and off-white.
