Wilia towards the Green Bridge; photograph, Wilno album, volume 1; Jan Bulhak 1876–1950; Vilnius panoramas; Wilia river, panorama of Vilnius; 1912; photograph, photographic print: 11.0 × 16.0 cm; album page: 31.0 × 23.5 cm, The image shows a riverside urban scene with a broad river curving through the center, bordered by tree-lined embankments and sandy exposed banks. Along the near bank there is a promenade area with a few trees and a large building with arches and a balcony. Across the river a group of buildings rises on gently rolling land, including a prominent twin-towered church with a light facade and several clustered structures of varied shapes and rooflines. There are a few smaller houses, some industrial-looking buildings emitting a plume of smoke, and a mix of open spaces and rows of trees. The foreground and riverbanks feature darker greens and browns, the buildings display muted light tones, and the sky appears a soft grayish tone.
