Makers: Juliusz Kossak 1824–1899 original draughtsman; Wojciech Kossak 1856–1942 draughtsman/reproduction; Konstanty Przykorski fl.1862–1882 draughtsman., A monochrome engraving shows a rider in flowing robes and a head covering seated on a rearing horse, the rider holding a long spear decorated near its tip and a cloak with tasseled ends blowing behind; the horse has visible tack and decorative elements and both horse and rider are positioned on a rocky, dusty foreground with clouds of dust around the horse’s hooves; in the distant background a group of mounted figures and animals stand on a flat plain with low hills beyond; visible colors are shades of gray, black, off-white, and beige.
