Technique: painting reproduction, photography., A sepia-toned scene shows a person wearing a light-colored coat and hat standing by a metal cooking range, holding a utensil over pots and pans on the stove; next to the range is a tall brick chimney. In the foreground are wooden barrels, a simple wooden chair, a few metal containers and a ceramic pot on the ground. Behind the person a painted backdrop with illustrations of carriages and an indistinct landscape fills the upper area. The visible colors are shades of brown, tan, cream, and muted gray.
