The painting includes a donkey with a woven pack, a few goats and a dog gathered around, and a person leaning close to the donkey. The background shows a landscape with low hills, a tower-like structure, and a couple of tall trees. Visible colors include muted browns, tans, creams, dark greens, deep blues, soft grays, and touches of reddish-brown and off-white in the sky, animals, and frame.
