Drawing, 26.9 × 20.9 cm., A hand-drawn ink sketch on cream-colored paper shows a riverside scene with a group of figures and landscape elements. In the upper portion, two seated men sit beneath stylized trees; one man wears a beret-like hat and appears to be seated at an easel, while the other wears a brimmed hat, holds a long pole, and has a pipe with smoke rising. A dog sits between them looking upward. Nearby are a small box and a dangling object at the end of the pole. In the background on a hillside are a few simple houses and a cluster of pointed trees with a hilltop structure. The middle area depicts a curved shoreline and water with a few fish-like shapes and rippling lines. On the lower left a small procession of uniformed figures marches along a path. The bottom shows a bridge with arched openings drawn in cross-hatched ink. Visible colors are cream from the paper and dark brown or black from the ink lines.
