Gate of the Sapieha Palace in Antakalnis, photographed by Jan Bulhak 1876–1950, Vilnius, ca. 1934. Photograph, nature photograph; height 11.6 cm, width 16.5 cm., A sepia-toned photograph shows the front of a large classical building framed by two textured stone gate pillars with arched openings; a flight of stone steps with rectangular block railings leads up between the pillars toward the building. The central façade visible through and beyond the arches displays multiple windows and decorative architectural details. Bare tree branches arch across the top of the image and a few trees flank the scene, with a wooden fence partly visible on one side. The ground in front of the steps appears uneven and covered with dirt and sparse grass. The predominant colors are sepia tones, brown, and shades of beige.
