Date: 1801 original; later 19th-century copy 4th quarter., A painted portrait of a young person with pale skin and curly brown hair, shown in three-quarter view inside an oval frame; they wear a light-colored garment with a sheer lavender shawl draped around the shoulders, and their expression is calm with slightly turned lips and relaxed eyes. The background is a soft mix of muted grays and blues with subtle cloud-like shapes. The oval painting sits within a rectangular decorative frame that is gold in color with ornate floral corner embellishments and a beaded inner edge, and the overall palette includes shades of beige, gold, brown, pale lavender, gray, blue, and soft flesh tones.
