Stanislaw August Poniatowski 1732–1798 in cuirass, from the circle of Stanislaw August Poniatowski's court; early portrait of the king with attributes of the monarch and commander — in the uniform of the Cadet Corps and cuirass, with the Order of the White Eagle 1756, holding a baton or regiment in his right hand; background shows a helmet decorated with a plume, a three-cornered military hat, and an ermine royal cloak. The portrait pose follows the canon of monarchical imagery used in the third quarter of the 18th century. One of the earliest portraits of the king, dated before 1768. Portrait, height 316.0 cm, width 161.0 cm., and place of creation., A painted portrait of a person shown from the torso up wearing a powdered gray hairstyle and a dark blue coat with elaborate red and gold embroidered sashes and metallic-looking decorations; the face has a neutral expression with pale skin and subtle pink cheeks, and the eyes look forward. The background shows a muted gray sky and a group of greenish-brown tree foliage at one side, with a hint of a reddish drapery above. The visible colors include gray, blue, red, gold, green, brown, pale skin tones, and a touch of pink.
