Bottle fragment, unknown Egyptian workshop. Fragment of a small water bottle, probably qulla type. Made of Nile clay type B with significant limestone inclusions and traces of chaff. Fracture nearly uniform dark grey fading to dark grey-brown, 10YR4/1–10YR3/2. Inner surface unworked dark grey, 10YR4/1; outer surface covered with whitewash very pale brown, 10YR8/3 bearing painted brown-red decoration: horizontal stripes, semicircles, lines, concentric circles, grid. 5th–7th century, Egypt. Vessel: height 6.2 cm, width 9.3 cm, thickness 6 mm., A broken ceramic fragment with curved edges and an irregular shape, showing a painted geometric and linear pattern in shades of brown on a beige base; the decoration includes dark brown arcs, concentric curved lines, triangular filled areas, and a banded border, with the surface showing rough, chipped edges and small areas of darker brown where the paint is thicker, all set against a solid gray background.
