Fragment of the body of a vessel with decoration painted in black and red against a pink-beige engobe background. Around the face, preserved only on the right side of the head, is wavy black hair covering the ear. The black pupils are surrounded by an almond-shaped outline resembling the shape of the eye. The nose is represented by a long vertical and a short horizontal line; the mouth by two unequal lines. A round black dot is next to the face. Nile clay of medium porosity. 5th–6th century, Egyptian workshop, Tell Atrib, painted Coptic vessel with figural decorations; height 3.2 cm, width 4 cm., A fragment of pottery with a rough, irregular shape sits against a plain gray background. The pottery piece is mainly a tan or light brown color with areas of darker brown and reddish-brown pigment forming irregular patches and worn shapes. The surface shows texture variations and some chipped edges, and the lighting creates soft shadows around the fragment.
