Spindle-shaped amphora, 6th–7th century. Made of pink kaolin clay Gempeler clay IA. Thick, ring-shaped vises protruding beyond the outline are attached to the base of the neck and the lower part of the handles. Upper half and lowest section have a fluted surface traces of turning. Conical, flat-topped bottom. Outer surface smoothed and covered with red engobe, in places burned to a cream-orange color. Interior coated with black resin impregnation. Amphorae type associated with an Aswan workshop; Egyptian/Coptic ceramic storage vessel. Find location: Edfu. Preserved height 50.8+ cm; neck diameter 5.5 cm; body diameter 12.4 cm., A top-down view of a round clay vessel with a central wide opening and a handle-like projection, showing a weathered surface with visible rough textures and chips; the vessel is predominantly terracotta with shades of brown and orange, and the background is a smooth gray.
