Dice cup, Goluchów Greater Poland Voivodeship. Greek ceramic dice game cup, 5th century BC, Attica. Vessel with small flat slightly concave bottom, slightly tapered walls, distinct rim and foot; outer surface decorated with seven wide ribs. Object entirely covered with black varnish shiny but in places matte; traces of turning visible under varnish, except for a small fragment on the inner surface and the outer surface of the bottom, which has a concentric decoration. Condition: spout slightly chipped in one place; surface shows dirt and secondary losses; varnish worn on rib ridges. Clay color 5 YR 6/6 reddish yellow. Varnish color 2.5 YR 2.5/1 black. Dimensions: height 8.3 cm, width 10.6 cm, depth 8.3 cm., A dark, ribbed cylindrical cup with a rounded handle on one side, showing a few scuffed and worn areas where a lighter color shows through; the cup appears glossy black overall with subtle variations in sheen and small patches of brownish wear, set against a smooth gray background.
