Dice cup. Small cup with a flat slightly concave bottom; slightly tapered walls and distinct rim. Outer surface decorated with seven wide ribs; distinct foot. Entire object covered with black varnish shiny but in places matte; good quality except for a small fragment on the inner surface and the outer surface of the bottom, which has concentric decoration. Traces of turning visible under the varnish. Spout slightly chipped in one place; surface shows dirt and secondary losses; varnish worn on rib ridges. Clay color 5 YR 6/6 reddish yellow; varnish color 2.5 YR 2.5/1 black. 5th century BC, Attica. Vessel cup. Height 8.3 cm; width 10.6 cm; depth 8.3 cm., A cylindrical object with a ribbed, wavy surface sits centered against a neutral background; the object is predominantly black with worn areas showing light beige or off-white flecks and patches, its surface has a slightly glossy finish with subtle lighter black and gray smudges, and the background appears gray.
