Cylinder seal with a presentation scene and a cuneiform inscription, unknown Akkadian workshop; Mardati scribe. Presentation scenes: cylinder with a negatively engraved presentation scene showing three male figures, one seated and two standing in front of him. Behind the seated figure are two vertical frames with cuneiform characters. The seated figure on a throne, damaged is shown in left profile, dressed in a kaunakes-type robe and wearing a headdress with a single pair of horns typical of deities; the right hand is raised in a gesture of greeting toward the approaching figures. In front of him is an altar or censer; in the upper register is a crescent moon. Behind the altar stands a figure in right profile, wearing a long robe finished with fringes; the left arm is bent at the elbow and raised to face level in greeting, the right arm bent at the elbow is at waist level. Behind the deity a standing figure in right profile wears a long fringed robe; his lowered left hand holds a bucket or basket, and his right hand, bent at the elbow, is raised toward his face in a gesture of greeting. 23rd–22nd century BC; Akkadian period. Height 1.81 cm, diameter 1 cm., A cylindrical carved object with a smooth worn surface showing a few shallow incisions and irregular pitting, predominantly beige and light brown with darker brown spots and streaks, photographed against a plain gray background.
