Lamp decorated with a depiction of a gladiator so-called Samnite, unknown Roman workshop, Scen.Gal.Class., gladiators iconography, lighting, oil lamps, single-burner lamps, 2nd half of the 2nd century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476, oil lamp, weight 0.078 kg, An oval terracotta object in shades of reddish-brown and dark brown with weathered surface texture shows a recessed circular field containing a low-relief figure wearing a draped garment and a helmet-like headpiece, standing with one leg forward and holding a rectangular shield and a short object; concentric raised rings surround the recessed field, and there is a central round hole within the scene. The rim and body exhibit worn areas and darker patina, with a small protrusion at the top and a narrow elongated spout at the bottom that forms a rounded opening; the lower handle area features molded scroll-like shapes and similar worn coloration.
